|
The South Carolina Bombers got a sterling performance from right fielder Jorge Rivera, but the Blazers still prevailed, 4-3. Rivera was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Pedro Vazquez, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 6.1 innings. Bloomington, now 8-5, has played well in the early going.
Arnold Layne aided the Bloomington cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
