Islanders Win at Santa Fe, 6-1
|
The Hawaii Islanders got a strong performance from pitcher Norogumi Yokoyama, who stymied the Santa Fe offense en route to a 6-1 win at The Fire House. Yokoyama went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-5. The Islanders bumped their record to 75-46 with this latest triumph.
Declan Ringer hit a run-scoring double off Juan Mendoza in the top of the first, which put the Islanders in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Ringer had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
"Enjoyed this one," Yokoyama told the Hawaii Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
