Akio Ishii made an impact in the 5-4 Dallas win over San Diego. Ishii, who is a two-time All-Star, was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Juan Vázquez in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mitsuzuka Koyama took the loss. The Texans bumped their record to 69-49 with this latest triumph.

The Texans got a big at-bat from third baseman Tzu-yu Xuan. For the game, Xuan went 2-4 with a double and a walk. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 55th hit of the season gave Dallas a 5-4 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Xuan said after the game.
