Earthquakes Get One-Run Win at Vancouver
|
In a close game at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, the San Francisco Earthquakes edged the Vancouver Pioneers, 4-3. San Francisco left fielder Hisaji Maekawa earned the nod as player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Eddie Rosado got the save, his 9th in 12 chances. The Earthquakes have now won 4 straight.
Had Juan López not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, López hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Earthquakes.
"We put together a nice win," López said.
