The South Carolina Bombers got a sterling performance from catcher Jesús Dela, but the Blazers still prevailed, 6-5. Dela was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bloomington reliever Dong-soo Bruce picked up the win, upping his record to 8-5. Kirk Redman absorbed the loss. Paco Berroa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 33 of 36 save opportunities.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the fourth, with the game tied, Levi Meeuwenberg was at the plate when Bloomington scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blazers to go in front, 4-3.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Meeuwenberg told the Bloomington Times.

South Carolina's current losing streak is now 4 games.
