The Santa Fe Fuego racked up a win at Blue Ivy Stadium, bumping off the Brooklyn Black Knights, 5-3. Clint Taurus, who started for Santa Fe, pitched effectively for his team. Taurus went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 12-8. Santa Fe is now 55-61.
Had Lance Adams not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Adams hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the Fuego.
"Feels good to get the job done," Adams said after the game.
