Republic Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Beavers
The So Cal Republic downed the Portland Beavers, 4-2, at House of the Republic. Luiz Lopez led the way, going 3-for-4 for So Cal. So Cal goes to 77-37. The win puts them 11 games up in their division.

Lopez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Alexis Coates, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Republic a 3-2 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Lopez.

After the game, So Cal manager Munenori Sato applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
