The So Cal Republic eked out a 4-3 win versus the Portland Beavers at House of the Republic. Nobody did more than pitcher Tanner Johnson, who captured player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Johnson, now 14-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The Republic bumped their record to 76-36 with this latest triumph.

So Cal took a 3-2 lead on Freddie Baseball's 61st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Baseball hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Portland pitcher Alexis Coates shaking his head.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Portland manager John Harrison. "The effort was great."
