Black Knights Lose 6-4 Decision to Islanders
|
The Hawaii Islanders defeated the Brooklyn Black Knights, 6-4, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium, with Hawaii pitcher Ehrich Weiss named player of the game. Reliever Winston Boer picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Cong Foong took the loss. With the loss, Brooklyn is 7-4.
Hawaii took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, third baseman Jim Burry hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Enjoyed this one," Burry told the Hawaii Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
