Texans Lose, 5-4, at The Fire House
|
The Santa Fe Fuego picked up a win at The Fire House, knocking off the Dallas Texans, 5-4. Starting pitcher Mehmood Dar played a key role in the triumph. In 8 innings, Dar surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 4 runs. Jun'ichi Suzuki converted his 25th save in 31 tries.
Denzel Tatchell drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Santa Fe. The 32-year old designated hitter had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ashoka Pancholi. It was his 15th walk of the season.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Dar.
The Fuego improve their record to 53-60 with the win over Dallas.
