New England designated hitter Jon Pittman made his presence felt in the 9-8 Colonials triumph over the Rubber City Rhinos. Pittman went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. New England reliever Paul Murat picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Will Taylor was saddled with the loss. The Colonials move to 51-55 with the win, while the Rhinos drop to 50-59.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Harold Planter, hit a single. It helped New England seize the win.

"It was a solid team effort," said Pittman after the game.
