Colonials Solve Sasquatch, 3-2
|
Seattle pitcher Dino De Buono gave the Colonials all they could handle, but in the end, New England left Skellington Stadium with a 3-2 win. De Buono allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings. New England reliever Ian Burrell picked up the win to move to 4-2. Dino De Buono suffered the loss. Juan Salinas converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
The Colonials got a big at-bat from shortstop Gil Cozart. For the game, Cozart was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 33rd double of the season gave New England a 2-0 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper Chris Sexton, "and it cost us."
The last-place Sasquatch have lost 4 consecutive games.
