|
Bloomington starter Landy Lu pitched effectively against the Mile High Mustangs at McNichols Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 6-4 win. Paco Berroa earned his 30th save in 33 chances. The Blazers bumped their record to 60-44 with this latest triumph.
Eugene Axe, who is rated as the 10th best prospect by BNN, aided the Bloomington cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Axe told the Bloomington Times. "You win just by scoring more runs."
