Oklahoma City designated hitter Baden Murphy had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Murphy was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as South Carolina beat the Prowlers, 5-3. Murphy was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Bombers bumped their record to 54-51 with this latest triumph.

Had Zhao-ying Gai not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gai hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Bombers.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Gai.
