Bombers Fall Short, 6-5, at So Cal
|
The So Cal Republic defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 6-5. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Zeus Mayhem, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. So Cal improves to 66-34 with the win. They lead their division by 7½ games.
Had Noam Foucher not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Foucher hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Republic.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mayhem told the So Cal Gazette.
