Islanders Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Oklahoma City
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Hector Lopez, the Oklahoma City Prowlers suffered a 7-3 loss to the Hawaii Islanders. Lopez went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. David Guzman got the win, improving to 12-2. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Bernalldo Rocchi notched his 20th save in 23 chances.
The Islanders got a big at-bat from catcher Carter Kotas. For the game, Kotas was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Hawaii a 3-2 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kotas told the Hawaii Bulletin.
Oklahoma City's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
