Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Blazers, 5-4
Bloomington shortstop Fernando Franco was the key at Arson Arena today, being named player of the game as he powered the Blazers to victory in a critical Game 5 of the ABL World Series. The Blazers took the 5-4 win over the Hawaii Islanders to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Had Franco not come through in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Franco hit a 2-run home run. The Blazers never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Franco said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday, November 20th, 2034 at Aloha Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Jim Obershaw for the Bloomington Blazers and Ehrich Weiss for the the Hawaii Islanders.
