Home Loss Shrinks Blazers' Series Lead to 2-1
|
The Hawaii Islanders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Bloomington Blazers, winning 6-1 at Arson Arena today. Islanders second baseman Tynan Miller was named player of the game after he went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The win cuts the deficit facing the Islanders to 2-1 in the best-of-7 ABL World Series.
Jim Burry chipped in for Hawaii with a solo home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Miller said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Bloomington. Slated to start are David Guzman for the Hawaii Islanders and Dong-soo Bruce for the the Bloomington Blazers.
