Hawaii Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R3
|
Despite a great performance by So Cal catcher Drake Ramsey, the Hawaii Islanders defeated the Republic by the score of 5-4 at Aloha Stadium today. Ramsey was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Islanders from moving one game closer to the ABL World Series. Hawaii now leads the League Pennant 2-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hawaii right fielder Antonio Roman had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Roman stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 5-4, Hawaii. For the game, he was 1-2 with a walk.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Roman said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Aloha Stadium. Slated to start are Phoenix Smith for the So Cal Republic and Rodrigo Garza for the the Hawaii Islanders.
