Rock River Breaks Through for First Win in Double A World Series; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Double A World Series, the Rock River Rats put on their best show, beating the Pacifica Shamrocks by a final score of 2-1 today. José López earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Rock River now trails Pacifica 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

López, a native of San Miguelito, Panama, was dealing all game. He kept Pacifica hitters off-balance, while giving the Rats 8 quality innings. López threw 124 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 9.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Rock River manager Bruce Leah.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Pacifica. The scheduled starters for the game are José Mendoza for Rock River and Grant Huffman for Pacifica.
