Olivo Handcuffs Cats, Freeze Seize 4-3 Advantage in R2
|
The Minneapolis Freeze moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Fort Worth Cats at The Ice Box by a score of 4-3. Freeze right-hander Jorge Olivo was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Freeze a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 Triple A World Series.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Tommy Moore, who is rated as the 25th best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Freeze went on to win.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Olivo.
