When the stakes were high, Felipe Rodríguez raised his game to match.

The left-handed Rodríguez turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the Divisional Championship today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the So Cal Republic to victory. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 7. The win gave So Cal a 2-1 lead over the Rubber City Rhinos in the best-of-7 series.

Rodríguez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Rubber City hitters while giving the Republic 9 innings of quality work. Rodríguez threw 136 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 7 punchouts.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Rodríguez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Phoenix Smith for the So Cal Republic and Bob Ruíz for the the Rubber City Rhinos.
