Hornets Stay Hot, Beat Tornadoes

Eureka and Kansas City duked it out at Debris Field and the Hornets came out victorious.
The Kansas City Tornadoes got a superb performance from catcher Jorge Hernández, but the Eureka Hornets still won the game, 5-3. Hernández was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Su-gyung Park, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 11 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Alim bin Umar locked down his 4th save.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from designated hitter George Brett Jr.. For the game, Brett Jr. went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Eureka a 4-2 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson.
The Tornadoes fall to 3-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
