Almost There: Bloomington On Cusp of R2 Triumph After 13-9 Win
The Bloomington Blazers moved to within one game of the League Pennant today, downing the visiting Maple Marauders at Arson Arena by a score of 13-9. Blazers designated hitter Levi Meeuwenberg was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Blazers a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Championship.

Had Jack Morris not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Morris hit a 2-run single. That made the score 11-9, in favor of the Blazers.

Meeuwenberg called the triumph "a good team win."

Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Arson Arena in Bloomington. Slated to start are Umarah Abdul-Quddus for the Maple Marauders and Salah bin Atif for the the Bloomington Blazers.
