1B Meeuwenberg Lights Up Marauders for 10 RBIs as Blazers Tie R2
|
Bloomington first baseman Levi Meeuwenberg produced all the offense the Blazers would need today in the club's 22-2 win over the Maple Marauders.
Meeuwenberg slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 10 runs and scored twice and was named player of the game, while Bloomington moved into a tie in the Divisional Championship. The Blazers and Marauders are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Eugene Axe, who is rated as the 10th best prospect by BNN, aided the Bloomington cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the catcher went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 4 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 4.
"I thought we played a nice game," Axe told the Bloomington Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Arson Arena. The scheduled starters for the game are Khurshid Durrani for Maple and Pedro Vazquez for Bloomington.
