The Varmits faced a stiff challenge from Lumber pitcher Pat Welch, but persevered to claim a win at The Range. The final score was 6-4. Welch went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The Varmits have now won 8 straight.

Elwiin van Erp was the walk-off hero for Yuma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Varmits designated hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," van Erp told the Yuma Herald.
