The Paradise Island Pirates powered past the Normal Nutcrackers, 11-3, at The Nutcracker Suite. Jack Crosby was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Iwane Kanda got the win, improving to 3-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. David Owens notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from left fielder Andrew Taylor. For the game, Taylor was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Paradise Island a 2-0 lead.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Crosby.
