Normal and Wichita duked it out at The Storm Center and the Nutcrackers came out victorious.

Behind a solid performance from center fielder Mat Martin, the Normal Nutcrackers defeated the Wichita Storm, 9-6. Martin went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Nutcrackers. The win was credited to Jim Capek in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ted Lincoln took the loss. Nick Clouse was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.

Mike Henry, who is tied for 9th in the CFL in hits with 81, chipped in for Normal with a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Martin.
