The Yuma Varmits sent the home crowd home smiling from The Range.

The Yuma Varmits got a stellar performance from pitcher Juan Figueroa, who handcuffed the The Stinging offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Range. Yuma reliever Brian Claphan picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Seth McMahill absorbed the loss.

Elwiin van Erp chipped in for Yuma with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"Feels good to get the job done," Figueroa said after the game.

The Varmits bumped their record to 34-27 with this latest triumph.
