The Yuma Varmits got a stellar effort from pitcher Pete Golding, helping Yuma score a 5-2 win over the visiting The Stinging Larvae. Golding went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-1. Brian Claphan, credited with the save, is now 11 for 11 in save opportunities.

Willie Curry, who was drafted in the two round of the 2034 draft, aided the Yuma cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a double.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Golding. "Just do my job."

The Varmits bumped their record to 33-27 with this latest triumph.
