6 Straight Wins for Totems
|
Victoria catcher Randy Stem made his presence felt in the 6-4 Totems triumph over the Lumber Kings. Stem went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Victoria reliever Derrek Bathauer picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Neil Vandermark was collared with the loss. The second-place Totems have won 6 consecutive games.
Dave Sorensen drew 1 walk for Victoria. The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Neil Vandermark. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," Sorensen told the Victoria Bulletin.
