Grays Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Georgia Grays relied on the hitting of right fielder Tadataka Yoshino to stop the Eureka Hornets, 7-6. For the game, Yoshino went 2 for 6 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Carl Bragg got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Georgia, now 46-49, holds third place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
Georgia won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With no outs and Alim bin Umar on the mound for Eureka, left fielder Bart Gascoyne hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Grays fans to their feet.
Gascoyne described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
