Tribbles Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Normal
|
The Rosewell Tribbles got a strong performance from pitcher Vicente Zavala, who stymied the Normal offense en route to a 6-1 win at Classified Field. Zavala went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-2. Rosewell goes to 20-21, Normal to 27-14.
The Tribbles got a big at-bat from first baseman Pat Churchill. For the game, Churchill was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Rosewell a 2-0 lead.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Normal manager Richard Lawson.
