The St. Paul Grognards picked up a win at The Thunderdome, knocking off the Paradise Island Pirates, 5-4. Starting pitcher Bill Daniels was an essential part of his team's success. The Grognards, now 13-23, know that wins in August count the same as wins in September.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With St. Paul trailing 4-3, John Bidwell hit a fastball from Domingo Rueda to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Grognards had a walk-off win.

"It was a solid team effort," said Bidwell after the game.
