Mathews Helps Storm Run Win Streak to 4
A 4-RBI performance from third baseman Brad Mathews, who is tied for 7th in the CFL in hits with 46, led the Wichita Storm to a 7-4 win over the St. Paul Grognards. David Benitez, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Grognards to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The first-place Storm now have a 4-game winning streak.

Mathews had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch curveball from Bill Daniels, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Storm a 4-3 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Mathews.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Mathews said.
