Pirates Walk Off with Win

The Paradise Island Pirates trumped the Normal Nutcrackers, 9-6, at Predator Park. Paradise Island designated hitter Zachary Long was named player of the game for his performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Paradise Island reliever Domingo Rueda picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Andy Kelly shouldered the loss. With the victory, the Pirates record now stands at 13-21.
Long had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Andy Kelly, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Pirates a 9-6 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Long.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Long said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
