Kings Drop Totems with Late Score

Lumber Kings starter Cory Roberts pitched effectively against the Victoria Totems at Royal Athletic Park. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 4-3 win. Roberts got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. Roberts allowed 2 earned runs. The Kings bumped their record to 13-13 with this latest triumph.
The Kings got a big at-bat from designated hitter Michael Cantu. For the game, Cantu went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Lumber a 4-3 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Victoria skipper Keiji Jouon, "and it cost us."
