Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Storm
|
The Wichita Storm wiggled past the Paradise Island Pirates, 4-3, at The Storm Center. Wichita pitcher Tony Ruiz earned player of the game honors. Wichita reliever Joel Stapleton picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Edwin Roman shouldered the loss. Wichita has an impressive 18-8 record.
The Storm got a big at-bat from designated hitter Eric Donohue. For the game, Donohue was 1 for 5 with a double. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Wichita a 4-3 lead.
Ruiz called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
