Cardinals Come Back Late to Top Storm
The inspired effort of Wichita second baseman Mario Martinez was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the Montreal Cardinals. Martinez went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jaylen Sutton earned the save, his 7th. Montreal leads the Cecil Fielder League Otto Velez Division by 2 games.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from third baseman Carlos Ballesteros. For the game, Ballesteros went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 21st hit of the season gave Montreal a 5-4 lead.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ballesteros told the Montreal Gazette.
