The Rubber City Rhinos got a superb performance from pitcher Bob Ruíz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Dallas. The Texans won the game, 3-0. In spite of the loss, Ruíz was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Adrien Clément picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-4. Bob Ruíz was tagged with the loss. The Texans bumped their record to 54-40 with this latest triumph.

In the bottom of the seventh, Pete Bell stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Rhinos were trailing 3-0, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Adrien Clément made a terrific pitch and Bell grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Rubber City comeback.
