Varmits Reel Off Another Win
The Yuma Varmits defeated the Sedona Sabercats, 7-3, in Cecil Fielder League action at The Range, with Yuma pitcher Ferdinand Bevan named player of the game. Jesus Rubio locked down his 1st save. With their winning streak at 6, the Varmits have raced to a strong start this season.

The Varmits got a big at-bat from shortstop Jonathan Fitzwater. For the game, Fitzwater was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Yuma a 3-1 lead.

"I really like what we did out there today," Fitzwater said after the game.
