Storm Get Close Win Over Kings
The Wichita Storm scored a 4-3 win versus the Lumber Kings at The Storm Center. Wichita pitcher David Benitez nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Wichita reliever Yutaka Sasaki picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dave Castro was saddled with the loss. Joel Stapleton locked down his 3rd save.

The Storm got a big at-bat from right fielder Mike Gamble. For the game, Gamble went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 29th hit of the season gave Wichita a 4-3 lead.

"Both teams played hard," said Wichita manager Cliff Moon.

Wichita, at 10-3, has sizzled in the early going.
