Lumber rode a fine outing from starter Danny Pinada to victory over the Wichita Storm at The Storm Center. The final score was 2-0. B.J. Kelly picked up the save for Lumber, his 4th of the year. Losses have been few and far between for the Storm, who are now 8-3.
Paul Woods aided the Lumber cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4.
Afterward, Kings manager Ed Warnecke was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
