Victoria rode a decent outing from starter Glen Nusz to victory over the Paradise Island Pirates at Predator Park. The final score was 5-4. Victoria reliever Colin Hoffer got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Domingo Rueda was tagged with the loss. Manuel Visser locked down his 1st save.
The Totems got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Wesseler. For the game, Wesseler went 1 for 4 with a walk. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Victoria a 5-4 lead.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Wesseler. "I like it."
The Pirates drop to 3-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
