Texans Need Extras to Top Beavers
Dallas and Portland duked it out at Waterfront Park and the Texans came out victorious.

The Texans had to overcome a fine performance from Portland pitcher Yoshiaki Kojima to grab a 6-4 win at Waterfront Park. Kojima allowed 2 earned runs over 8 innings. The winner was Aurelien Bonello in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Po-sin Pang took the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Bryce Rice came to bat in the top of the 21st. Facing Portland pitcher Po-sin Pang, he hit a 0-2 slider for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Dallas on top, 6-4.

"It was a solid team effort," said Rice after the game.

The second-place Texans are now 53-40, the Beavers 45-49.
