Hackers Turn Back Frisco, 4-3
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers beat the Frisco Rams, 4-3, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The Hackers got a fine performance from first baseman Ryan LeMaster, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a double. The winner was Silicon Valley reliever Shayne Cluff, now 4-2. The loser was Aaron Carter. Guo-xiu Du, credited with the save, is now 14 for 15 in save opportunities.
Had Lance Vallery not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Vallery hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Hackers.
"I like the roll we're on," said Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller.
The Rams, now 96-67, have lost 4 in a row.
