Sabercats Score Late to Upend Totems, 7-5
|
The Sedona Sabercats topped the Victoria Totems, 7-5, in Cecil Fielder League action at The Lair at Sabercat Field. The player of the game was Sedona right fielder Jonathan DeLille. Juan Centeno was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Sabercats, now 2-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
DeLille had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Colin Hoffer, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Sabercats a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for DeLille.
"We played hard and won," said DeLille. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
