Boca Raton pitcher Ivan Marquez did his part in helping his team beat the Scottsdale Scorpions, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Xavier Pearson notched his 5th save in 5 chances. The Fighting Iguanas bumped their record to 36-34 with this latest triumph.
The Fighting Iguanas got a big at-bat from third baseman Henry Bello. For the game, Bello was 1-4 with a double. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Boca Raton a 2-1 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Marquez told the Boca Raton Observer.
