Las Cruces right-hander Eddie Pena pitched his team to victory over the Caribbean Commies at Castro Field. The final score was 6-3. Las Cruces now sits at 27-40, while Caribbean falls to 38-29.

It could have been a different outcome for Las Cruces, had it not been for Bob Robles, the 21-year old second baseman . Robles contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Las Cruces up, 6-3.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Robles told reporters after the game.
