Las Cruces Javalinas starter Pedro Cerna had all his pitches working at Castro Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 10-2 Las Cruces win over the Caribbean Commies. Cerna went the distance for Las Cruces. He gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits. With the win, the Javalinas have a record of 26-40.

It could have been a different outcome for Las Cruces, had it not been for Bob Robles, the 21-year old second baseman . Robles contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Las Cruces up, 3-1.
